Joseph “Joey” Sanchez despite facing many obstacles in his life,  including Cerebral Palsy and Chorns Disease Joey has been able to complete a traditional high school diploma and holds an Associate of Arts in Computer Information Sciences, and an Associate of Science Degree in Computer Information Technologies both from Miami Dade College. Joey  graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreational Therapy from Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida. He also has a Certificate as a Specialist in Microsoft Office. In 2016, at his Commencement from FIU, nearly 10,000 undergraduate students heard Joey’s inspiring story, as he was featured as a “World’s Ahead” Graduate receiving honors and recognition from the President of the University of Florida International University. Joey also works with the Occupational Therapy Department at FIU, where he is a community advocate for the disabled and enjoys sharing his journey with prospective therapists.
